Steelcase Series 1 Ergonomic Office Chair with Carpet Casters - Adjustable Black Mesh Task Chair for Home & Office Workspace Comfort

I work from home 2-3 days a week. Before I bought this chair, I always feel back pain after 2-3 hours sitting. Our company has steelcase brand chairs. Whenever I work on site sitting in this type of chair, I don’t feel tired. I would say not having Steel Case chair has been reducing my working efficiency by at least 25-30%. Now finally I have this dream chair today. It’s very easy to assemble, the whole assembly process takes less than 5 min. I highly recommend you to watch those 2 short videos on Amazon. By the way, the chair I received is made in USA. The ordering experience from Amazon is great as usualIf someone can get back to me about this chair... I love it and don't want to return it seeing that I bought it for a discounted price. But my chair was banged at delivery (box has a hole in it), and that damaged the left arm. Would love to just have it replaced.Up front: I ended up returning mine for reasons that will become clear.PROS:- Very easy to assemble (though there is a caveat to this below). Unlike many chairs that you have to screw the bolts in every part to assemble it, this is very very easy; all of the pieces slide or snap together and some are already partially assembled (the metal seat base that attaches to the pneumatic cylinder is already attached to the seat, for example). The seat just slides in and and snaps into place with the back and the arms slide down into the holes and that's it. CAVEAT: (and the reason I returned mine) the left arm of mine inserted into the hole fine, but (unlike the right arm) did not stay in place (there's a button on the bottom side you push to adjust the height of the arms - this button did nothing on the left arm). So the left arm would just fall all the way down. I had to tape it in place with gaffer tape since I had already thrown my old chair away and needed to use this until I got a replacement.-Seat is very comfortable. I could do with a little more padding on the seat itself, since I do a lot of work at the computer for hours every day, editing video and photos - the more padding the better. The adjustable lumbar support on the back is awesome. And the adjustable arms (when they both work) are great. And the wheels are very carpet friendly.- The maximum height is higher than most other office chairs which is nice if you have long legs or have a high desk. Of course you can lower it to whatever you want as well.CONS:- Mine was defective, as mentioned.- I wish the arms could be adjustable forward and backward, instead of just vertically up and down- Overpriced. This was about $400 with tax when I got it. I expect a very very nice chair for that. I don't expect something with a huge defect out of the box. Materials also didn't feel as premium as you'd think a $400 chair would get.- Wish it had a leather seat, but I knew it didn't up front- Again, more padding in the seat would be nice- Wish the arm rests were padded instead of bare plastic- It is INCREDIBLY hard to disassemble. Honestly I only disassembled enough to get it in the box to return it. I have no idea how to remove the arms once you insert them. It took two people to separate what little we could to make it fit back in the box. Not an issue unless you have to return it like I did.I'm giving it three stars (should be 2.5 but I'll round up) because 1) it's SUPER easy to assemble, like no other chair I've ever purchased 2) it is very nice, all things considered, but 3) mine was defective, and 4) it really should be a bit more premium (materials, for example) for a $400 item. This really feels more like a $200 chair tops.I ended up getting a leather mid back chair from Staples for $139.99 and while it isn't nearly as adjustable nor as easy to assemble, it's more comfortable and not defective.I am just over 5 ft tall and have had a really hard time finding a chair for my home office that was ergonomically appropriate. So far so good on this one. Wish I had known Steelcase also has an adjustable desk that goes lower than the one I bought.This chair was extremely easy to assemble. I've assembled 6 different chairs this year and this one is 11/10 for ease of assembly. Seriously pleased. No tools needed.My only wish is that the lean had locking points besides straight up. I lean my chairs back to get more lumbar and lower back support. My work around was to shove wedges in the chair mechanics. **don't do this unless you are comfortable with physical injury risks to you and voiding your warranty. Very strong pinch points, and hazard for breaking/flying material. I jammed 2 lego blocks in mine.**Website customer service is great. In the answered questions on Amazon there is a guide to remove the arms. You will need a torx bit screwdriver and patience, as they have hidden the entry points to maintain a clean look for the chair. You can get arm hole plugs from your local Steelcase dealer for around $40.Love the chair but really wanted this model chair for the 4d arms. Unfortunately that feature is not part of this standard model.De inicio la incomodidad de la silla no se nota tanto , es hasta las dos semanas en las que el asiento de la silla como el respaldo se vuelven muy incomodos. Cabe mencionar que soy un hombre de 90 kilos , he comprado muchas sillas durante la pandemia buscando la indicada , esta silla no vale los 10mil pesos en los que lo venden , es mucho mas comoda una silla gamer de 5mil pesos (sobre todo por la esponja de alta densidad) que lo que sea que le hayan puesto a esta. El hecho de que venga sin respaldo para la cabeza pesa despues de estar varias horas sentado , el soporte lumbar es una broma no se sienta ninguna diferencia en ninguna de las posiciones y el respaldo de la silla de malla es muy mal diseno para soporte.No se ajusta en dirección vertical. Por el precio mejor consideren opción.****** Actualización ******Mi silla original vino defectuosa desde la caja. Pero el personal de SteelCase me respondió y en menos de una semana tenia una silla nueva funcionando.La silla es mucho mejor opción para oficina en casa y videojuegos. Mas allá de ser mucho mejor calidad, ergonómica y cómoda, no castiga mi espalda después de horas de uso.Una de las mejores inversiones que he realizado en los últimos meses, pues no es una compra, es una inversión al tratarse de un objeto sobre el cual me desempeño durante largas horas de trabajo en casa, además de su agradable estética, buen diseño funcional y gran calidad de manufactura. Su ensamblaje y uso toma cinco minutos al sacarla de la caja.Está muy cómoda y elegante tenía mis dudas por el precio pero la calidad y diseño cuesta y esta silla vale lo que cuesta un 5 estrellasMuy fácil de armar
