This product appears to be good. This warning is for all those other klutz’ like me. Not the fault of the product. I used this to stain-proof a couch. make sure you put down a tarp before spraying furniture. When overspray landed on our wood floor and I stepped off the area rug to survey my work, I went flying and broke my wrist. Landed like a sack of potatoes! Again, not a criticism of the product - only communicating a warning so no-one else does this!I've known about Vectra since 1994. It really works as a water and stain repellant. Follow the directions. If you get some drips and spots when spraying... not to worry. When it dries they will be gone. After applying to some new upholstered furniture I would tend to say this product is a bit on the pricey side and probably should be also offered in a smaller size for those who do not need this much.Too early to tell if this product works and how well it will protect against stains. The application process did not go well or as envisioned. After reading the entire label I got to work. First I put down a tarp and covered all of the wood parts because the directions do not mention how best to handle overspray. The spray applicator has both a spray and mist setting. Do not use the spray setting. With the mist setting I found that taking a full pull on the trigger was resulting in a flood of large droplets saturating the fabric. Adjusting to partial, half pulls of the trigger reduced the quantity of drops significantly. I did not like that the directions do not indicate how much product to apply or how often it may need to be reapplied in the future. I also did not like, and which contributed in part to my rating, that answers to these product questions were so important to me that I took time to write and submit my questions and did not receive the courtesy of a reply.Just used it for patio cushions. It was quite easy to use. The first use toward the end of spraying half of the 8 cushions, the sprayer seemed as though it might stop working or could stick. But next day all went well and I completed spraying the balance of the cushions. I mainly got it for the low odor reviews and also hope it will protect the light cushions, which get little use. This stuff is LEGIT! I purchased a custom, handmade, blue velvet sofa - totally impractical and totally awesome - for a seldom used music room in my home. After a couple of years, we downsized and decided this sofa would become our primary living room seating. After reading reviews for other upholstery protectants, I was very hesitant to spray any of them onto my sofa, but knew I would need to protect the finicky velvet. Most products to not guarantee to not ruin velvet and reviews say it will make it crunchy. After much research, I finally decided Vectra was going to be the product for me. However, just to be sure, I emailed Vectra directly to ask about using the product on velvet, and, much to my surprise, they emailed me back directly the same day to say "YES, Vectra can be used on Velvet, Spray a fine mist. Do not saturate." I was already sold on the product, but that kind of customer service will have me coming back again and again. As Vectra suggested, I sprayed a fine mist all over the sofa. I sprayed it on a hardwood floor, and put down towels around the sofa after a few sprays. I believe the product has mineral oil in it, which made the floor a little slippery, but was very easy to clean up (and actually made the wood look shiny and brand new! :) No big deal at all, but something to be aware of it you are spraying a surface on a hard floor. I purchased two bottles to spray one sofa and had WAY more than enough. I think I only used about 1/3 of one bottle, and proceeded to use the rest to spray ever other piece of furniture I could find!I have now been using this sofa as my primary seating for almost a year and can say it still looks as good as it did they day I bought it. Stains never set in, liquids don't just soak in immediately, and even crumbs just brush right off more easily than they did before. Vectra is truly amazing. It will protect your furniture and keep it looking brand new. Easy to apply, no terrible smell, and dried relatively quickly. Cannot recommend this product more highly.Sprayed my new off-white sectional sofa the day I received the product. I had no idea the off-spray was even reaching the floor, nor did I realize the product was slippery. When I stepped from the rug to the hardwood, I was airborne and slammed onto my hardwood floor resulting in a broken hip!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!The product is easy to use .I cannot recommend this product due to the difficulty I encountered trying to apply it. Product comes in a spray bottle and instructions state to apply in a fine mist. Well no way a fine mist is coming out of that spray bottle. Standing the recommended 12" to 18" away from furniture to be treated, I pulled the trigger on the spray bottle and big drops of the product came out unevenly from the bottle, creating a polka dot pattern on my furniture. I tried swishing the bottle back and forth while applying, but this didn't seem to help. Instructions state to not saturate items being treated, so what I got was a very uneven application of the product on my furniture. I guess instructions should state that once initial application is dry, keep spraying your items multiple times until entire surface is treated. It remains to be seen how protected my furniture will be after multiple applications are done. If you have a great product, why sell it in a subpar spray bottle?I bought all new furniture and area rugs for my new apartment. I was so worried about when my grandchildren came over and the messes they might make. Well we just put this to the test, my granddaughter dumped orange freezie all over the new cream colored rug. The freezie just sat on top, and didn't penetrate the rug at all! This product is amazing!! The only suggestion I would make is put blankets or towels under your furniture while spraying. It makes floors pretty slippery.Nozzle arrived cracked, have no way of telling if this was done in shipping? Previous purchaser as I have already said have complained of similar issues. I was able to spray one chair before it totally fell apart. It was also not misting properly , it was spitting not misting. If seller knows this is defective why has it not been rectified? I also want to mention that the nozzle provided had a tube which was too long to fit the bottle...I bought this thinking it was non-toxic but when it arrived, I noticed that the label says nothing about it being non-toxic. I live in Canada and to ship it and return it cost me over $50.
