The one step model was purchased for my wife who is recovering from back surgery which made it impossible for her to get in and out of a bed with a high mattress. The carpeted top provides a good non-slip surface so, unlike some other wooden bed steps, there is no need to apply any rough tape to keep bare feet or stockings from sliding on a highly varnished top. The wood is about 3/4 inch thick, which makes for a very sturdy box step. The back side is a solid piece of wood and not open, so the stair tread is fully supported on all four sides. The dimensions are good, with the 6 inch height being just right for the height of the bed. The top surface is large enough to comfortably turn on in order to sit on the bed before raising one's legs. The only negative is that the carpet piece should have been finished better and either bound or sealed so that the fibers would not separate and come off at the edges. The shipping that was included in the price was USPS 2-day priority.I would give these stairs 10 stars if there was an option. They are solid and look like a great piece of furniture next to my 4 poster canopy bed. My dog instantly used them to get up in bed the minute I set the stairs down. She was visibly overjoyed to receive the stairs. haha These stairs are not going to move an inch even with a particularly joyous jump from them because they are nice and heavy.We got this product (3-step) to help our 10+ year old Great Dane get up on the bed again, after she developed Disc problems in her back. It is very solidly made, and the steps are truly non-stick. It only took one attempt to get our dog to try, and she readily took to it.I am so satisfied, I want to see if they make a 2-step version for the living room, so the dog can get up on her sofa.Love the stairs and so does my dog!! She walked up them the first time. They look good too.They are sturdy but not so heavy that I can't move them.These steps are beautiful, sturdy and very well made. My 85 lbs. Lab uses them all the time to get on the bed.
