Good and bad with this tool. I like the fin on the back for a few reasons. It’s easy to pull from my pouch without looking and it works well to crease before cutting. Also handy around doors for tucking. I like the blade slot is tight and doesn’t slide back and forth. Sadly when you loosen the screw to cha he the blade you must flip the knife over to open otherwise the used blades fall out. Then after you put a new blade in you then flip the knife again to tighten the screw. This tool is probably the reason I got so many hours during one of the conventions I helped set up. The boss was really impressed an apprentice like me had one so he kept me working. I do get nervous about storing the blades in the handle so I really crank on the D ring when I change a blade. Don’t want the Bloody Mary to claim another victim, hah. Overall awesome tool and made cutting carpet around columns and doorways much easier. It works well and came with three blades with the large slot in the middle. The tucking tool worked good when I couldn't find my standalone one, just had to be careful not to stab myself with the sharp end while tucking the carpet.Pro's1. Metal construction and comes with 3 blades (Internal storage)2. Handle design good but not great3. Blades very sharp4. Cutting carpet you must cut from the backing side5. Worth the money for the two small jobs I had. Larger jobs buy something else!Con's1. Blades stuck together and very easy to cut yourself prying them apart.2. Blade stays in position but can not retract for safety. (Handle with great care)3. Inserting blade into cutting position very futz y. Won't stay put as you balance handle trying to align two halves. (small magnet here would hold the blade in position. Hint hint!)4. Handle construction is metal but could use aligning pins. Easy to assemble off center. See item 3 above.5. Blades dull very fast. Two 10ft cuts dulled the first blade. Last few cuts took several passes to complete. It is a good size, and is reasonably priced. So close to being a perfect tool. The blade really should be retractable. Instead you either have to leave it out and possibly cut yourself, or you have e to unscrew the handle and pull the blade out and put the handle back together again to hold in place constantly. Other than that I LOVED it.Returned didn’t use was too small.I used to cut the carpet on a recent remodel for a bathroom and it worked great. I then used to cut surplus carpet for my dogs doghouse. I used to struggle with scissors, but this does the work in 1/10 the time. I would recommend to wear cut resistant gloves as it could do some serious damage to your skin. I would recommend this product. As a carpet fitter this knife is a great idea and buy but let down. The build quality is cheaply made and the two half's of the knife do not interloc so its only held together by the thumb screw and no matter how tight its done up there is movement between the two half's while using it which I find annoying.as listed, would buy againWorks as described, heavy dutybon outilWorks well and fit in your hand nicely.
